DIVORCE & CO-PARENT COACHING

When a person is faced with the ending of a long term relationship, either marriage or common-law, it can cause great distress and chaos in their life. Individuals experience various challenges that require professional help. We are able to provide support tailored to each individual specific needs. Assistance with issues such as problem-solving prior to separation, uncoupling effectively from an ex-partner, individual therapy to address specific unresolved concerns, and transition planning, can be helpful to all individuals. Separating parents have to consider their children’s needs in a timely manner. We assist with helping parents to focusing on addressing co-parenting issues, and starting a positive child-focused approach to working with the child’s other parent.Developmentally sensitive guidance is also  provided on how to discuss information with children of all ages, introducing children to new partners, discussion and implementation of shared custody, positive exchanges of children, and the sharing of information between households.

We’d love to support you!

Parenting Coordination

Parenting Coordination (PC) is a service for parents who have ongoing disputes about a custody order, parenting plan or separation agreement and who do not want to go to court to resolve those disputes. It is designed for parents who cannot agree on day-to-day matters affecting their children, and it is most useful for parents who already have a parenting plan and a permanent court order.

Our Parenting Coordinators are professionally regulated and registered by the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). We believe that working from a child-centered model, while offering support and assistance to both parties so they can be the best parents possible, is the most effective approach. We are able to offer practical assistance and strategies, flexible appointments, and timely responses in an effort to reduce the anxiety of our clients and to form a positive professional relationship. We have experience with high conflict families, child development, family systems, and patterns of domestic violence, as well as specific training in the unique process of Parenting Coordination.
